Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD) supplies electric, Internet, cable television and phone services to the township of Braintree, Massachusetts. BELD was founded in 1892 by Thomas Watson and is one of the oldest departments in the country.
BELD's mission is to maintain a staff of competent, well-trained employees, dedicated to providing safe, reliable, economical energy and related services for our customers, and responsive public service for the community.
