Significantly faster and more affordable than similar services offered by other providers, a new inter-office data and Internet service is now available from BELD Broadband!
Offered to BELD’s commercial and industrial customers, this Commercial Grade Internet service is distributed exclusively over BELD’s existing fiber optic network—reducing customer costs by not relying on other carriers for transport and giving qualified business customers the option of replacing or augmenting existing service.
BELD Broadband has engaged a local company, Alpha Delta Inc. (ADI), to assist in the marketing of this new service, which offers Internet access with speeds ranging from 1 megabit per second (MBPS) up to 50 MBPS. Because BELD owns its own fiber plant, we can offer 2 MB Ethernet connections less expensively than other carriers provide the standard 1.54 MB T-1 connections.
The reliability of our new Commercial Grade Internet service is “carrier-class.” Using core technologies from Atrica and Cisco, the major infrastructure of the new network has been designed to cut over—in the event of fiber or equipment failure—in less than 50 milliseconds! In addition, BELD now has two Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) links and one microwave link, which provide the most efficient redundancy for the network.
For customers already under contract with another data carrier, we offer the option of installing BELD’s commercial-grade fiber as either a permanent redundant link or as a transition to BELD Broadband as their sole provider. We deploy Radware Linkproof tm devices that allow load balancing and automatic switchover in the event of link failure. This equipment allows the end user to enjoy the benefits of redundancy while avoiding the red tape and high costs of using other redundancy protocols.
Customers with their own routers and in-house technical staff will appreciate our straight Ethernet feeds and support as they complete their own configuration. For those who do not wish to maintain their own routers, BELD Broadband will provide a combination route/firewall and program it according to connection specifications and customer needs.
