IMPROVEMENTS to the Town Hall Mall
Installing Holiday Lighting
Braintree’s new mayor wanted to make some improvements to the Town Hall Mall, including the addition of holiday lights to the trees in the Mall area.
The decision was made to purchase Light Emitting Diode (LED) holiday lights—the next generation of light bulbs—that use only 15% of the energy that traditional bulbs use. LEDs do not contain mercury or other toxic elements and can last more than 100,000 hours.
A crew of BELD linemen strung 300 sets of LED holiday lights on a total of ten trees in the Town Hall Mall, creating a spectacular holiday display that, even more importantly, uses less energy and makes a minimal impact on the environment.
