On Saturday, Oct. 13, BELD will host its annual customer appreciation event at the Braintree Farmers Market, 9 a.m.– 1 p.m. at Braintree Town Hall (1 J.F.K. Memorial Dr.). In addition to providing information on electric and broadband services, BELD employees will talk about our partnership with Braintree Drives Electric, a town initiative designed to help residents take full advantage of all the benefits of driving electric vehicles.
Market-goers can pick up giveaways, plus Braintree residents can bring the raffle ticket that was with their September electric bills to enter the drawing for a “Taste of the Market” basket, full of fresh items from market vendors.
BELD staff will also hand out towels at the eleventh Annual Senior Walk for Health and Fitness, Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Pond Meadow Park. The walk kicks off at 10 a.m. from the Weymouth side parking lot off Summer Street.
Public Power Week is celebrated in conjunction with the American Public Power Association (APPA) in Washington, D.C. APPA is the service organization for community- and state-owned electric utilities. For more than 125 years, BELD has been a nonprofit public power utility owned and operated by the citizens of Braintree.
