Mutual Aid in Georgia and South Carolina After Hurricane Helene

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, BELD is proud to have sent two dedicated crews to assist with power restoration efforts. Our teams, equipped with a bucket truck and a digger utility truck, were dispatched to Sandersville, Georgia, and Laurens, South Carolina, joining forces with several other Northeast Public Power Association utilities to help restore electricity as safely and quickly as possible.

Working tirelessly around the clock, our crews were met with an incredible outpouring of kindness from the local communities. A special thank you goes to a group of thoughtful young ladies who lifted our spirits with care packages filled with snacks and drinks. Their generosity and bright smiles kept our teams motivated during long days of work, reminding us of the true strength of community, especially in challenging times.

We are truly thankful for the warm welcome we received in these states and for the incredible support shared on social media. Moments like these make our work even more rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who made our crews feel at home during this important mission!
