The award recognizes BELD’s commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
BELD has received the Diamond designation in the 2025 Safety Awards of Excellence from the American Public Power Association (APPA).
The APPA Safety Awards of Excellence recognize public power utilities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to safe operations and workplace safety practices. Utilities are evaluated based on their safety performance and dedication to protecting employees while delivering reliable electric service to their communities.
The Diamond designation represents the highest level of recognition in the program.
RJ and Dave attended the APPA Engineering & Operations Conference last week, where they proudly accepted the award on behalf of the department.
“This award belongs to our employees,” said Bill Bottiggi, General Manager of the Braintree Electric Light Department. “Their commitment to safety and looking out for one another every day is what makes recognitions like this possible.
BELD remains committed to maintaining the highest safety standards while continuing to provide reliable, affordable public power to the Braintree community.
