Support the Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund — “Give the Gift of Warmth”

This winter, BELD customers will see a special green donation envelope included with their January bills — and it’s more than just a colorful insert. It’s an opportunity to help neighbors across Massachusetts stay warm and comfortable during the cold months through the Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund.

For more than four decades, the Good Neighbor Energy Fund has been a community-powered safety net that provides energy assistance to Massachusetts families and individuals facing temporary financial hardship. The Fund helps people who may not qualify for federal or state energy assistance but are struggling to pay heating and utility bills due to unexpected circumstances.

How You Can Help

If you’re able to give, consider making a donation through one of these simple options:

  • Use the green donation envelope included with your January BELD bill — just enclose your gift and send it in with your payment.

  • Donate online at www.magoodneighbor.org.

  • Mail a check payable to Good Neighbor Energy Fund, c/o The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021-1408.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference — helping the Fund reach its goal of raising support for thousands of households across the Commonwealth.

Why Your Support Matters

The Fund’s “Give the Gift of Warmth” campaign brings together utility customers, energy companies, and local communities to keep neighbors warm when they need it most. Donations go directly to energy assistance, helping eligible households cover heating costs and avoid the stress that comes with unpaid utility bills.

Your generosity doesn’t just fund energy bills — it helps sustain hope for families during one of the toughest times of the year. Thank you for being a good neighbor.
