Commitment Confirmed: BELD Earns APPA Gold Award for Customer satisfaction

Ruth Slater, BELD’s Energy Advisor accepts BELD’s 2025 Gold Award for Customer Satisfaction.

We are proud to announce that we have been honored with the Gold Award for Customer Satisfaction by the American Public Power Association (APPA). This national recognition affirms BELD’s dedication to providing outstanding service and value to the Braintree community.

The APPA Public Power Customer Satisfaction Awards are based entirely on detailed customer surveys, recognizing utilities that achieve top marks across several critical areas. BELD was specifically commended for its high performance in:

  • Customer Service Excellence
  • Electric Reliability
  • Communication
  • Value of Service
  • Outage Response
  • Field Personnel Professionalism

The Gold Award places BELD among top two public power utilities nationwide recognized for gold level customer satisfaction.

“This award is a direct reflection of the commitment of every BELD employee and, more importantly, the trust and support of our customers,” said Bill Bottiggi, BELD General Manager. “Being honored at the Gold level means that the service we provide—from keeping the lights on to assisting residents with their billing—is meeting the highest standards. We are driven by our mission to serve the Braintree community, and receiving this positive feedback fuels our commitment to continuous improvement.”

As a locally owned and operated public power utility, we remain dedicated to maintaining safe, reliable, and affordable electric service. We extend our gratitude to our customers for their participation in the survey and for making Braintree an outstanding community to serve.
